Cameron Highlands is the perfect, cool mountain hideaway distant from all the frantic rush of city life. Blessed with perpetual springtime, it abounds with lush and colourful flora, providing an excellent and serene atmosphere for both business and pleasure.

It was in 1885, William Cameron, a government surveyor on an expedition into the main range reported finding a plateau with gentle slopes shut in by loftier mountain's. A Hill Station was developed in 1931 and has since become a very popular resort not only for residents of this country but for overseas tourists as well.

There are so many interesting places which you can visit. Sungai Palas Tea Estate, one of the four tea estates on the Highlands,  also produces the world famous Boh Tea. You may travel 1 km into this estate where the factory is located. Resident guides will introduce you to the complex processes involved in the production of fragrant tea. These include the picking of tea leaves and the intricate art of brewing a good cup of tea. If you like, you could even purchase some tea, the main produce of the highland, as a souvenir.

Apiary-Honeybee Farm -  a small cottage industry for the production of honey, is is a garden where some 25 varieties of flowers have been cultivated not for sale, but as a food supply for honey bees in search of nectar and pollen. Honey, believed to be a natural replacement for man-made sugar, is delicious, nutritious and even therapeutic. Researchers believe it contain amazing ingredients for treating ailments such as insomnia, lethargy, skin diseases and even impotence!

Starwberry Farm -  strawberries are another unique and proud product of the Highlands, seen as a trademark of the hill resort. The variety is known as 'Fresno'. One should not leave the farm without a jar of strawberry jam.

If you are a flower lover, there is an abundant variety of roses, 200 to be precise, may be found. They range from Abraham Lincoln, Kiss of Fire, Alpine Sunset, Princess De Monaco to Lovely Lady. Be amazed with the Green Rose, a rare variety-distinctively different from the rest in its colour, characteristic and form. Some of these roses are made into jam and perfume whilst others are valued for their medical properties. With those flowers discover the most fascinating, beautiful species of butterfly and insects indigenous to Malaysia. These specimens include scorpions, chameleons and insects such as 'Moving Leaves' Rhinocerous and Stag beets, and of course the 'Rajah Brooke',   Malaysia's national butterfly.

Sam Poh Temple built in 1972, is is the 4th largest Buddhist temple in the country. Amongst others, it houses a large statue of Lord Buddha, the founder of Buddhism.

Market Square, this is a place where you can get all types of vegetables, fruits and flowers from all over Cameron Highlands. You may also purchase souvenir items in the form of T-shirts, teas, blowpipes and other memorabilia.

If you're feeling adventurous, there are 14 trails to explore. Discover fascinating and unique plants which may not be found in other parts of the world, such as the 'Pitcher Plant' (commonly known as 'Monkey Cup') or 'Golden Chicken' (a rare variety of ferns with gold-colored futon it). For the less energetic, a leisure walk to the waterfalls will be most rewarding.
