DIRECTION TO THE RESORT
From Kuala Lumpur
and South (Note: There are several petrol stations along the way and motorists are advised to fill up their petrol tanks whenever possible. There are no petrol stations in Fraser's Hill. At Ulu Yam there is a supermarket (Sanata Supermarket) situated near the trunk road where a wide variety of daily provisions and food is offered)
From Penang and North
From Kuala Kubu Bahru
towards Fraser's Hill
From the Gap to the Top This stretch (35 min to 45 min) is for one way traffic during the day and 2 way at night. It is narrow and wide enough for one car only except several stretches where 2 cars can squeeze through. Gates (Lower Gate & Upper Gates) control the passage of traffic at the last 7km stretch to Fraser’s Hill. The gate times show below: Going Up (Odd Hours) Going Down (Even Hours)
07.00am – 07.40am 06.00am – 06.40am
Between 8pm and 6am, the road is open to 2-way traffic where one has to be careful of oncoming cars. Put on your high beam and drive slow (less than 25km/hr). Look out for oncoming car headlights. Horn to let the oncoming car know that you are near. When the oncoming car approaches, lower the beam and slowly squeeze through. If there is wider space, stop to wait for the other car to pass. Night car accidents on this stretch is extremely rare. The bigger danger is that if you are unfamiliar with winding roads, do not attempt it at night and if it is raining heavily, wait for the rain to stop or abort your journey. If you are using the road after a heavy rainfall, drive slow and watch out for fallen bamboo across the road.
