Located at the southern-most tip of Malaysia, Lat. 01 23 85 N Long. 104 06 27 E, the marina is at the gateway to what is now known as the Aseanarean region which is also Asia's one and only up-river marina. Boat owners and sailing enthusiasts alike will find it easy navigating here as the Sebana River is known for its calm water.

Power boats and luxury yachts should have no problems getting to the marina as its basin has been excavated to the depth of three to six meters to allow for easy passage. In contrast to the traditional yacht clubs, Sebana Cove Marina can accommodate yachts of any size at its main basin measures 400 by 500 meters.

The marina also claims to be the first in the Asian region to provide berthing facilities for luxury yachts. Fashioned after the Century Cove Marina in Gold Coast, Australia, it has 100 wet berths, 20 dry storage spaces, 5 berths for mega yachts and a clubhouse. Sebana Cove Marina is nothing short of being a modern mariners' rendezvous.

Dinner Cruise On A Moonlit Mangrove River

Gliding gently up the Santi River in southern Johor, the mood was exploratory for the guests and crew of Rising Tide, a 26-metre sailboat. Minutes earlier they had pulled in the line from the berth of Malaysia's premier Sebana Cove and motored downriver just before the sun illuminated the tropical sky with the last burst of light.

On deck, the yacht was transformed into an alfresco dining area complete with linen tablecloth and napkins. Cocktails were served and the exchange was subdued and relaxed as the sounds from the wetland rain forest provided a most unusual background.

It was as though the aerial roots were breathing in harmony, then there was the click-clack rhythm of the oysters, clams and crabs as they clambered in and out of the mud-holes. The occasional splashes of a mudskipper or river fish interspersed the rising crescendo of the nocturnal cicadas.

Darkness came down like a heavy curtain on the expectant diners. Dinner was served - a spread of Western and Asian food catered by Sebana Cove. While the guests were enjoying their BBQ meal, the attention turned to the playful on-off, on-off twinkle of the fireflies. Strung out in the deep of the mangrove, the little insects were masters in showmanship.

Freshwater river dolphins have been spotted in the Santi River. The Brahminy kite, grey heron and the Malayan kingfisher are some of the birds seen in their natural habitat. By taking the visitors to the heart of the mangrove river, dinner becomes a secondary pleasure. Appreciating the ecosphere of the mangrove up close and leaving it as quietly as possible, everyone present on Rising Tide realized how special the evening was.

With immediate effect, the Johor Sailing Permit is no longer required for Singapore registered vessels entering Johor waters.

• C.I.P. can be arranged by Sebana Golf & Marina Resort Berhad. Skippers are requested to present passport and C.I.P. documents to the Harbour Master's office upon berthing.
• For foreign registered vessels, a documentation fee of RM50.00 applies for this service.

Berth Rental Agreement - Boat owners are required to sign the berth rental agreement at the Harbour Master's office upon submitting documents for port clearance.

A valid passport is required with at least six months validity from the last day of departure from Malaysia.

Certain nationals require an entry visa, those that do not are issued a visitors visa on entry.

All boaters are required to comply to the rules & regulations listed below in order to ensure safety and cleanliness of the marina and its users at all times.

• International rules of the road and Navigation laws of Malaysia apply to all vessels in or approaching the Marina.
• Noise should be kept to a minimum at all times.
• Shore power must be used at all times. Generator sets cannot be used whilst berthed.
• Extent of boat repairs and maintenance at berth is at the discretion of the Management. Major repairs and subcontract labor is not permitted.
• The use of mechanical tools outside of boat is prohibited. Painting and/or scraping of the exterior is prohibited. Boats may proceed to the repair facilities at the dry storage area.
