The
Desa Utara Pedu Lake Resort project in Kedah was based on the concept
of creating a Malaysian holiday resort to allow guests to experience
the traditional Malay Kampung lifestyle in an exotic, unspoilt and
serene surrounding.
 For
tourists, the Resort would be an introduction to the life and culture
of the Malay kampung, whereas it would be an opportunity for
Malaysians to reacquaint themselves with their roots which have been
largely lost through urban living.
The
300-acre Resort was realized and opened by the honorable Prime
Minister Dato'Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad after a record 123 days of
construction.
