Day 01 Sandakan/Gomantong Caves/Kinabatangan River & Sukau

0830 hrs

Pick up from hotel in Sandakan. Proceed on a two hours drive passing Oil Palm Plantation to Gomantong Caves.

1030 hrs

Arrive Gomantong Caves. Explore the largest bird’s nest cave in Sabah.

1200 hrs

Depart for Sukau by the Kinabatangan River.

1245 hrs

Arrive Sukau. Take a boat ride and across river to Sukau River Lodge.

1300 hrs

Arrive Sukau River Lodge. Check in lodge with basic facilities.

1330 hrs

Lunch is served.

1530 hrs

Take a boat trip to cruise river to view proboscis monkeys, birds & other wildlife until nightfall.

1800 hrs

Return to river lodge.

1930 hrs

Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 02 Sukau / Sepilok Orang Utan Centre / City Tour

0615 hrs

Breakfast.

0700 hrs

Depart for Sandakan.

0915 hrs

Arrive Sepilok Orang Utan Centre. Register. Proceed to Platform A.

1000 hrs

Feeding of orang utans at Plantform A.

1040 hrs

Proceed to either walk along a nature trail to see vegetation & animal life in the rainforest or watch nature video program at the Nature Education Centre.

1200 hrs

Return to Sandakan for lunch.

1400 hrs

City Tour begins. Tour include visits to Observation Pavillion, Central Market, Chinese Temple, Church and drive to the Water Village to see houses on stilt above water occupied by local tribes.

1600 hrs

Transfer back to respective hotels in Sandakan or to airport for flight departure.

Note:

What to bring - Raincoat, hat, insect repellent, sun lotion, drinking water, torch, toiletries & items of personal use. Use good walking shoes. Comfortable cotton T-shirt with long & short pant recommended.

All the Sandakan tours are starting and ended up in Sandakan (hotel/airport). For guests traveled from BKI, you need to take a domestic flight from BKI/SDK and will be met upon arrival at SDK airport and joining this tour with other FIT’s guests.
